My 1959 Gibson Flying V Korina. Serial number: 9 17xx. Its known as the "Suicide V". The name eludes to quite a story. This one is real folks. Refinished. This guitar is "The Bomb". Posted Oct. 2023.
Same guitar with different lighting. The tuner tips have been changed. I have the original mummified / shrunken tuner ends.
Correct rolled plastic (with visible ridges) used by Gibson in the 1950s.
Correct neck and body joint for 1950s Flying V bodies.
1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom
I got this Les Paul from Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. It was owned by a sessions guitarist from Nashville and is 100% totally original and completely unmolested. I have always wanted an unmolested 57 Les Paul primarily because that was the first year of the Gibson PAF humbucker. Plus, there is something special about owning a 50's Les Paul with PAFs. This is 1 of only 283 Les Paul Customs that shipped in 1957. This is an awesome guitar. Added July 2015.
I recently purchased a mint 2019 Les Paul Custom 1957 Reissue R7. It is totally accurate and identical to my original 1957 Custom. It even has the waffle back tuners, deep beveled pickguard and yellow inked-on serial number, etc. Both guitars are pictured side-by-side. Posted June, 2023.
1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop, '57 Conversion
This is the "Reverend Booe" Goldtop. This is a really cool first-year 1952 Les Paul that was converted to a 1957 style Les Paul. The pickups are early-1960s PAFs. This guitar still has its original paperwork from when it was purchased in December, 1952. That's 70 years ago. How cool is that ! It was probably purchased as a Christmas present. The original owner was the Reverend Dow Booe.
1965 Gibson SG Standard with incredibly rare Pelham Blue finish.
This is 1 of only 6 Pelham SG Std's that were produced in 1965. It has the wider nut width of 1 11/16". All original and totally unmolested. I purchased this from the son of the original owner. This is one of the coolest guitars I have ever seen !!!
1967 Gibson ES-335, Sparkling Burgundy, Near Mint.
Rare finish. This is the only S. Burgundy ES-335 I have ever seen with the Bigsby and "Custom Made" plaque combination. I bought this guitar from a lady who received it from her Dad as a Christmas present on Christmas Day in 1967. This guitar was strummed for about a year then shoved under the bed for over 40 years. The guitar looks almost new. Posted Nov. 2012
